Facade Lighting

Textured house surfaces, such as brick, weathered, wood, split shakes and barn siding can add character, depth and dimension to the landscape when you light them correctly.  Grazing (mounting fixtures just inches from the surface and aiming them up at a close angle) can produce intense, highly provocative effects.  By contrast, moving fixtures away from the surface will create scallop-shaped areas of light.  If you use it appropriately, scalloping can excite visual interest and add perspective to the overall project.
